NAD+ stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. It is a coenzyme found in all living cells. It exists in two forms, oxidized (NAD+) and reduced (NADH). It rapidly converts from one form to another and in doing so, is essential for many reactions within cells that produce energy. The mitochondria in the cells are where energy is produced, and without sufficient NAD+, they do not work as efficiently as they should.

Why use NAD+ IV instead of pills or nasal sprays?
NAD+ is now available for IV infusion, which provides systemic levels greater than some other therapies. These include nicotinamide riboside (NR) and nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMR), which are both turned into NAD+ in the body. They are considered supplements and are available in oral and nasal spray form. They are easy to use and less expensive, but only have a very mild effect. NAD+ by infusion, however, creates much higher systemic levels and thus provides significantly more energy support.
What do we use NAD+ for?
NAD+ is reported by many to be helpful with cognitive support, mood support, and brain clarity. It also supports healthy overall energy levels. We offer NAD+ infusions at doses used for these purposes. While there are some medical centers that treat addiction using high dose NAD+ infusion therapy, we do not use it for this purpose. NAD+ therapy for addiction uses infusions that take 6-8 hours and are done every day for several weeks, and must be done as part of a comprehensive addiction program. Our use of NAD+ is instead for general energy and brain support. Our infusions typically take about 2 hours and most people do them periodically to sustain their results.
